Time Machine V2 is a dual-purpose trend engine that pairs a slope-colored candle overlay with a dedicated Trend Direction oscillator, giving traders a single read on market bias from both the price chart and a supporting momentum pane. The indicator refreshes the original Time Machine’s visual language with a new color scheme and adds an optional VWAP overlay for intraday reference.
Concept
The core idea behind Time Machine V2 is trend confirmation through slope, not just price level. Rather than relying on a single moving average crossover, the indicator tracks whether its EMA is rising or falling bar-to-bar and colors the candles and EMA line accordingly. This slope-based approach reduces the lag associated with fixed threshold systems and lets the trader see trend shifts as they develop rather than after a lagging crossover confirms them.
Alongside this, the Trend Direction panel translates the angle of a Jurik-style moving average’s slope into a bounded oscillator using an ATR-scaled arctangent transform. This normalizes trend strength across different instruments and volatility regimes, so the same visual reading applies whether you are on an index future or a crypto pair. A Rate-of-Change filter confirms that price is actually moving with conviction before the panel treats a slope as directional, filtering out flat, directionless chop.
